How Does Xpatfone Work?

Xpatfone uses a Wi-Fi or 3G/4G/5G data connection on your handset or tablet to ensure excellent digital sound quality. It will work anywhere in the world where a stable connection is available.

Do I Need A SIM Card?

Xpatfone will work over WiFi, but for best service we suggest getting a cheap local SIM card with a data allowance.

 

Do I Need A NEW PHONE?

No, there is no new hardware required. Just simply install the Xpatfone app from the App Store / Google Play Store.

How Long Are The Contracts?

We have no contracts at Xpatfone. If you wish to leave us at any time please contact Support and we will cancel your subscription immediately. You will have full access to your Xpatfone number for the remainder of the month.

 

What Caller ID Will Others See When I Call/Text Them?

When making a call or texting through Devyce, the recipient sees ONLY your Xpatfone phone number — and it looks exactly the same as any other UK mobile or landline number.

Will people have to pay extra to call me?

No - as far as anyone calling you is concerned, they’re just calling a regular UK mobile number, based in the UK. It’ll cost them the same and they’ll hear a UK ring tone. They won’t know whether you’re in Benidorm or Birmingham.

 

How Do I Set A Voicemail?

Call 123 from the Devyce app to set an outgoing voicemail message.

Can I Use 3rd Party Communication Applications With Xpatfone?

Yes, Devyce is fully compatible with WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, Viber, and many other 3rd party communication apps.

 

Can Xpatfone Be Used For SMS Verification Codes?

Yes, Xpatfone is fully compatible for use in gaining access to SMS verification codes. If you are still in your Xpatfone trial period you will need to activate your account in order to see your codes.

Can I Turn Off My Xpatfone Number?

Yes, our Do Not Disturb feature allows you to manage this in real time or route calls to other team members if you are out of office and the notifications will be muted until you are ready to return to work!

 

What Numbers Can I Call Using Xpatfone?

Xpatfone can be used to call all UK, US, Canadian and Irish numbers. Users can also purchase international add-ons. Please contact support for further details.

Can I Get An International Number?

International numbers will be available soon!

 

Can I Use My Existing Number?

Yes! Please contact support and our dedicated Porting team will transfer in your existing number free of charge. Find more information about transferring your existing number to Xpatfone here.

How Does XPATFONE Work?

Expat mobile is powered by Devyce, therefore, Xpatfone uses the Devyce mobile application. Our application uses OTT (over the top) operations and is therefore, reliant on WIFI or data connectivity to work. However, this also means that Xpatfone does not require a SIM card - allowing the use of multiple numbers on a single mobile.

 

Can I call uk emergency numbers?

Xpatfone does not currently support directly calling emergency numbers, to avoid the use of UK emergency numbers from outside the UK. Therefore, local SIM cards should be used to make local emergency calls. Alternatively the following emergency numbers may be called via your Xpatfone number to reach UK emergency lines:
